STATEMENT FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REGARDING COVID-19
Greetings from a very quiet Las Vegas.
As we all know, this is the most unusual time in most, if not all our lives. Everything that was once normal has been replaced by the unknown, uncertainty, and not nearly enough facts for anyone to formulate an educated guess as to when the new normal might actually begin.
I made the decision in late February to reschedule the 2020 Las Vegas Global Wine Awards to May 18-20. When I made that decision, it was based on what little information that was available, and to be honest, hoping and being optimistic that this pandemic could be controlled quickly.
Well, my optimism and hope for a quick resolution hasn’t come to fruition, and the May 18-20 dates are not going to be feasible.
Therefore, I am announcing that the 2020 Las Vegas Global Wine Awards are going to be rescheduled.
I have been in frequent contact with the Palace Station, host hotel for the competition. They, like all non-essential businesses in Nevada, are in limbo until our governor allows business to resume.
I have secured dates at Palace Station for both August and September of this year for the competition. At this point that is the most I can do.
Rest assured the 2020 Las Vegas Global Wine Awards ARE going to happen!
When there is absolute correct information available, I will update this letter.
Until then, please stay safe.
It's our pleasure to invite you to the 2020 Las Vegas Global Wine Awards on May 18 – 20, at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
Our world class judges panel is an extraordinary mix of Master Sommeliers, Winemakers, highly respected Journalists and Trade Experts!
